A writer’s lifestyle

I am not too keen a writer but with the kind of lifestyle I’ve been following for the past 45 days, I suppose, I’m in a right position to describe what we, the writers do all day long; more precisely, how do we get along with it.

The image says the most of what you’ll read below! Yes, the life is dominated by hours of keyboard activity. As I type this article, the sound each keystroke generates has a special meaning; analogous to a step a load runner makes or a nomad’s walk to a no-man’s-land. At times, I get agitated writing about stuff and think of a change. But when I’m out, thoughts and thought processes never leave me alone.

At times it gets weird when you start to think of an article while you’re in a loo! I’ve read somewhere too,"the best thoughts get poured in while you’re at ease!"

Life around me evolves as a movie which I see through the terminal of my PC and the slightest control I have is maneuvered – again by these keystrokes. Having said that, I do not intend to criticize this way of living life, rather I advocate the difference it has from the rest.

For my writing needs, I keep connected to a Laptop, a Desktop and a Wi-Fi router at home; I use a 2 Mbps broadband connection and have a EDGE enabled GPRS connection as a stand-by. I love revolving around this infrastructure; atleast until the college reopens and I need to look elsewhere.

Many of my friends have asked me "How much do you earn doing this?" I am not sure if I’d like to display a screen shot of my PayPal account dashboard! You can visit my website – Praval.com to know more about my work and clients.

Life from other view points have been pretty stable, with me staying indoors for most of the days. There have been nearly no night outs, movies, parties, or whatever. Just a few meetings with friends on a day or two and a carefree walk each evening has marked the past 45 days of my life.

More on life soon.
