Deciding on a laptop model

The prices for laptop models have fallen significantly in the past 2 years. This perhaps is one of the important reasons why more people come and ask me to help them with selecting a laptop model! Even I got one for me a few months ago. I need to figure out the next change, few month from now;)

There more models available in the market than one would possibly review before a purchase. Recently, while working on a laptop selection regime, for a friend, I happened to stumble on one of the best laptop review websites. The best part about the website is that it has user generated content. The feedback is from the user for the would-be users of a product. Unlike professional reviews at cnet, techtree, tech2, etc. this one is a generic, end-user experience sharing website.

Out of the several available selection, I landed on hp laptop page, where in I could get some good reviews to pass on to the actual buyer! HP laptops are still my favorite! I hate compaq models though.

If you’re willing to get some real words about a laptop model, do logon on to LaptopCommunity.com for getting the forst hand information about pro’s and con’s of a laptop model.

I’ve used HP and it was not very good experience.

I found dell to be very good in following areas:
– performance
– cost
– after sales support

I’m currently using Dell Inspiron 1520.

(If you r buying a core2Duo processor laptop; make sure you are getting 64 bit OS installed … almost all vendors miss this part)

And better yet — dont go for MS Vista .. it is resource hungry and slow)

This is interesting, but have you thought about going for a Mac? I made the switch a couple of years ago and have never looked back! !
